Professor Kaye Chon attended the World Travel and Tourism Council's 14th Annual Global Summit in Hainan, China on 24-25 April 2014.
Professor Chon and Dr Jinsoo Lee attended the International Convention and Expo Summit 2014 in Seoul, Korea on 9-10 May.
Professor Chon, Dr Henry Tsai and D.HTM student Ms Jeanette Meilan Wu attended the 13th Asia Pacific Forum for Graduate Students' Research in Tourism in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 14-16 May 2014. Professor Chon delivered a keynote speech entitled "Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations". Dr Tsai and Ms Wu presented a paper entitled "Residents' Perceptions of Casino Gaming Development in Penghu".
Professor Chon, Dr Barry Mak, Dr Sam Kim, Dr Qu Xiao, Dr Paul Whitelaw and Ph.D. students Ms Daisy Fan and Ms Hera Oktadiana attended the 12th Asia-Pacific CHRIE Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 21-24 May 2014. Dr Kim participated in a panel session by presenting a paper "Massive Open Online Course: Case of Cyber University". Dr Whitelaw presented a paper entitled "Archetypes: A New Typology of Hospitality Career Performance". Ms Fan presented a paper entitled "Hong Kong Residents Traveling to Mainland China: Cultural Difference and the Travel Perception".
Professor Cathy Hsu was an invited keynote speaker at the International Conference on Experiential Learning in Hospitality and Tourism in Macau, China on 20-23 May 2014. She gave a speech on "Learning and Teaching: The Role of Experiences".
Professor Chon attended the 2nd UNWTO Knowledge Network Global Forum in Mexico City, Mexico on 28-30 May 2014.
