Dr Mimi Li recently received a research grant from the China National Tourism Administration as Co-PI with Dr Han Shen from Fudan University, beating out more than 1000 other proposals in a highly competitive application process. Dr Li and her co-investigator will examine the application of social media to destination marketing in China, a largely under-researched area.

Under the supervision of Dr Ada Lo, Mr Randy Lam Pun-chuan, a 2013 graduate of the BSc(Hons) in Tourism Management programme, received the 2014 J. Desmond Slattery Undergraduate Student Award for his honors thesis topic "Consumer Evaluations of Hotel-Restaurant Brand Alliance". The award will be presented at the Travel and Tourism Research Association 45th Annual International Conference in Brugge, Belgium on 18-20 June 2014.
