SAO Affiliated Interest Club contributing to Alumni Engagement Effort Part I

Facilitated by the Student Affairs Office (SAO), its affiliated Chess and Boardgames Club collaborated with the Alumni Affairs Office to host an amazing event "Strategic Moves @ Alumni Atrium" on 27 December 2023. This pioneering effort rendered an engaging platform to connect PolyU graduates and current students across generations who share a passion for chess and board games.

The event brought together around 50 enthusiastic board game enthusiasts, who eagerly gathered at our PolyU Alumni Atrium. With the dedicated efforts of members from the SAO affiliated interest club, the venue was adorned with a captivating display of chessboards, card games, and a variety of popular board games, setting the stage for an inviting and vibrant atmosphere that embraced everyone in attendance. Experienced chess players from the Chess and Boardgames Club generously shared their strategies and insights with the beginners, creating an inclusive environment where participants could learn and grow together. Their dedication and support contributed significantly to the success of the event, as everyone was able to engage in friendly competitions and bond over their shared passion for board games.

The collaboration between the Alumni Affairs Office and the SAO Chess and Boardgames Club turned out to be a remarkable student-alumni initiative, highlighting the club's unwavering passion in fostering a cozy environment for chess and board game enthusiasts at PolyU. The tremendous success of this event has left a lasting impression on the participants, with many alumni eagerly looking forward to future board game gatherings.
