Introduction |

TL is currently Associate Professor at Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies. He is also serving as the programme leader of BBA International Shipping and Transport Logistics, Director of CY Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies, and Chair of PolyU Staff Club. By training, TL received his PhD from the University of Hong Kong and is a mechanical engineer. He is practicing as consulting engineer, and previous consultancy studies include a benchmark field survey of wave climate of Hong Kong waters; carried out a benchmark study of Hong Kong marine traffic risks; and low carbon logistics. Being an active researcher and teacher in his own research interests, he has a substantial research profile in maritime traffic and economics. He has specialised in fluid mechanics, maritime studies and decision sciences and is teaching undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in related fields. His experience on campus has made one thing clear. The underlying tenor of university life should be to have fun. Students should enjoy what they do and should enjoy themselves. Great things happen when students are having fun. Universities are indeed in the process of reinventing and rethinking their curricular frameworks and programme logics. The Student Affairs Office is here to support students about the issues and challenges they are facing. |
