The laboratory provides cutting-edge clinical training for cardiopulmonary physiotherapy through innovative technologies and immersive simulations. High-fidelity manikins simulate complex cardiopulmonary conditions, allowing students to practise patient assessment and interventions. A high-resolution ultrasound system supports training in lung and diaphragm sonography, aiding ventilator weaning and diaphragmatic function analysis. Dynamic scenario control adjusts vital signs in real-time, fostering adaptive learning based on student decisions. Advanced ventilator integration offers hands-on experience with modern mechanical ventilation technology. In a safe, controlled environment, students build confidence in clinical reasoning and technical skills, mastering assessment, treatment, and emergency response before engaging with real patients. | ![]() High-fidelity manikin for students to practise patient assessment and intervention |

The Vocational Rehabilitation Teaching Lab (GH001) provides comprehensive training in work assessment and work hardening for clients recovering from injury or illness. Equipped with advanced tools like VALPAR, a simulated driving complex, and BTE work simulators, the lab creates realistic work scenarios to evaluate and enhance functional capacity. Emphasising a client-centred approach, it combines functional evaluation with psychosocial support to rebuild work skills, confidence, and endurance for successful return-to-work outcomes. Students gain hands-on experience using cutting-edge simulation technology, guiding clients in skill redevelopment and preparing them for real-world vocational challenges. |
