Summary
The transport and electricity sectors are major contributors to global carbon emissions. Achieving carbon neutrality requires transitioning to renewable energy (RE) and electric vehicles (EVs), yet managing intermittent RE alongside rising transport energy demands remains a critical challenge. This project aims to develop data-driven solutions to decarbonise the transportation sector by synergising RE, energy storage, and smart EV charging.
In this research salon, Prof. YANG will present the project's final annual progress. Focusing on overarching strategic design rather than proprietary mechanics, the presentation will outline a high-level, integrated architecture supported by an advanced visualisation platform. This conceptual framework optimises urban energy flows, providing scalable solutions for Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and global cities striving for a zero-carbon future.
