Summary

In this research salon, Prof. LIU will present the significant and final results of his research project. The objectives of this project are threefold: to build a comprehensive multi-data sensing architecture for constructing digital models as part of a city digital twin; to develop a feedback model for collecting travel demand and satisfaction data from persons with disabilities (PwDs); and to create analysis tools that support smart and friendly mobility solutions for PwDs. These efforts aim to enhance urban accessibility and improve the overall mobility experience for individuals with disabilities.

Associate Professor
Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI), PolyU

Prof. Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He received his PhD degree in Geo-Informatics from the Royal Institute of Technology KTH, Sweden in 2012. Prior to joining PolyU in 2016, he worked as a postdoc fellow and sessional lecturer at the GeoCollaboration and GIS Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto, Canada. His research interests are centered around GIScience, transportation geography, and complex networks. His objective is to leverage state-of-the-art technologies to advance smart cities for a better urban life. He is particularly interested in integrating machine learning into modeling human behavior and analyzing human-environment interaction in cyber and physical spaces.
