Prof. WANG will present the research results of the project “Optimized Design and Optimal Control of Smart Buildings of Enhanced Grid Friendliness and Responsiveness”. This project aims to unlock the true potential of buildings for relieving the power imbalance and peak load of power grid, and thereby establish a buildings-grid ecosystem in which buildings could act as “shock absorbers” of the grid, opening up new value streams for owners and operators, and eventually, playing an essential role in enabling a more efficient, green, and secure energy system for sustainable urban development.
