Abstract

• Dr Jiang will present the annual progress and achievement of his research project entitled” New paradigm of water separation membranes”. This project aims:
• To synthesize carbon nanomaterials-polysulfone composite ultrafiltration membranes that have simultaneous high permeability and selectivity, using both conventional solvent-based and 3D printing methods.
• To synthesize and graft low-cost, abundant biopolymers on reverse osmosis membranes to mitigate fouling issues.
• To demonstrate the concept of membrane tailorability (i.e., with desired properties) in the applications of “fit-for-purpose” treatment, such as the removal of certain specific contaminant, among others.
