Summary

The quest for carbon neutrality in cities relies on innovative energy consumption and generation strategies. This research explores the synergistic integration of advanced solar technologies with 3D urban modeling to foster a sustainable urban ecosystem and aims at optimizing solar energy such as placement of solar panels within urban design to maximize energy capture and efficiency.

In this research salon, Prof. YAN will present the first annual progress of his project on the investigations on the compatibility of cuttingedge cooling paints and photovoltaic (PV) technologies with the distinctive forms of urban landscapes to reduce energy consumption in buildings, as well as the innovation integration of solar, material, and 3D technologies to drastically reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
