Biography

Prof. TAN Kay Chen is the Head and Chair Professor (Computational Intelligence) of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).  He earned his PhD Degree from the University of Glasgow.

Prof. TAN's research expertise lies in artificial intelligence (AI). Currently, his research team is applying AI technologies to transforming hearing healthcare. Besides, he has contributed into the research of Alzheimer's Disease. Prof. Tan is also a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and currently serves as the Chief Co-Editor of the Springer Book Series on Machine Learning: Foundations, Methodologies, and Applications.

By joining RISA, Prof. Tan aspires to contribute his expertise in developing technology-driven solutions for senior citizens to advancing smart ageing research and knowledge transfer. Besides, he strives to collaborate with interdisciplinary experts to tackle the challenges of ageing population.
