The Research Institute for Large Aircraft (RILA) was jointly established by COMAC and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, united by a shared vision: to advance aviation technology through innovation and to cultivate future-ready talent for the global aerospace industry. Positioned at the forefront of intelligent design, green aviation and digital transformation, the Institute serves as a collaborative platform that harnesses the strengths of the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and the broader international community. By bringing together leading experts from academia and industry, RILA is dedicated to addressing key challenges in large aircraft development, including smart manufacturing and intelligent sensing, advanced MRO technologies, noise reduction, meteorology and sustainable operations.
RILA is committed to integrating research, education and industrial application. Through the establishment of joint laboratories, interdisciplinary projects and close collaboration with COMAC’s development programmes, we strive to transform cutting edge ideas into practical solutions that enhance safety, efficiency and environmental performance throughout the aviation value chain. At the same time, the Institute fosters a vibrant learning environment for students and young researchers, offering opportunities to participate in major research initiatives, internships and training programmes that equip them with a global perspective and strong innovation capabilities. Looking ahead, RILA will continue to build a strong partnership with COMAC and extend our impacts in the Greater Bay Area and beyond, contributing to the high quality development of China’s large aircraft industry and reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a hub for aviation technology and talent.
大飛機研究院由中國商飛與香港理工大學共同成立，秉持著推動航空科技創新、教育與產業應用的深度融合，暨培育面向未來的全球航空人才的共同願景。藉著共建聯合實驗室、開展跨學科研究項目，以及緊密對接中國商飛的型號研製與產業布局，我們將創新構想轉化為切實可行的技術方案，全面提升航空產業在安全性、效能及環境表現方面的整體水平。同時，研究院亦為學生和青年學者提供多元而充實的學習與成長平台，透過參與重大科研計劃、實習與專業培訓，培養兼具創新精神和全球視野的高端人才。展望未來，研究院將繼續深化與中國商飛以及國際夥伴的合作，為中國大飛機事業的高質量發展作出積極貢獻，並進一步鞏固香港在粵港澳大灣區及全球航空科技與人才培養體系中的重要地位。
