Call for Potential Guidelines for the 2026 Innovation Research Fund of COMAC-PolyU Research Institute for Large Aircraft

The COMAC–PolyU Research Institute for Large Aircraft (RILA) is inviting submissions of potential guidelines for the 2026 Innovation Research Fund. This call is intended to solicit ideas and explore potential research directions and areas for the funding scheme. This announcement is an invitation to submit potential guidelines from PolyU staff for review by the RILA management team and academic committee. Please note that this is not a formal call for proposals. Interested parties should submit a separate application once the official guidelines are formally released.
中國商飛—香港理工大學大飛機研究院現正徵集有關2026年度創新研究基金的潛在申報指南，誠邀相關研究團隊就基金的可能研究方向及研究領域提出意見，並共同探討可行的研究方向。本次通知僅為基金指南徵集，供大飛機研究院管理團隊及學術委員會審閱，並非正式基金項目徵集。有意參與者應於正式基金項目徵集發布後，按屆時公布的官方要求另行提交正式申請。
The Fund aims to leverage the strengths of industry and academia to foster collaborative innovation across industry, academia, and research institutions. It supports fundamental research and frontier exploration in civil aviation, addresses key technological challenges in large aircraft development, and seeks feasible technical solutions for critical issues in commercial aircraft design and preliminary research.
The Fund will focus on intelligent design, precision processing and manufacturing, and operation and maintenance, and other related areas subject to further consideration.
本基金旨在發揮企業與高校各自的優勢，開展產學研用協同創新，支持民用航空領域的基礎研究與前沿探索，應對大飛機發展中的關鍵技術挑戰，並為商用飛機研製與技術預研中的重點和難點問題探索可行技術方案。
本年度創新研究基金將聚焦智能設計領域、精密加工與製造領域、運行與維護領域，以及其他可探討的相關研究方向。
- Must be a full-time staff member of PolyU, holding the position of Research Assistant Professor (inclusive) or an equivalent rank or above;
- Each applicant, as the Project Investigator (PI), may apply for no more than one project of the same type of the Fund per year;
- The total number of projects undertaken by the applicant as the PI at RILA is limited to two. If the applicant is already undertaking funded projects, when applying for a new project, if two funds are already being undertaken, the existing projects must obtain completion approval from RILA before the new project can commence; and
- Employment period of the applicant at PolyU must be sufficient to cover the project period; otherwise, a strategy exit or transition plan must be provided.
- 為理大的全職員工，且職級為研究助理教授（含）或相應級別及以上；
- 申請人作為項目負責人每年申請的同類基金項目數量不得超過 1 項；
- 申請人作為項目負責人同時承擔的研究院項目總數限制為 2 項。若申請人已承擔基金項目，在申請新項目時，如已承擔 2 項任務，則已承擔項目必須在新項目擬開展之前獲得研究院結題批准;
- 項目負責人在理大的聘用期限需足以覆蓋項目執行期，否則請提供資助退出或過渡方案。
General projects will be funded at RMB 0.4 million to 1.5 million (inclusive) per project, while key projects will be funded at RMB 1.5 million (exclusive) to 3 million per project.
面上項目每個項目為人民幣40萬至150萬元（含），而重點項目每個項目為人民幣150萬元（不含）至300萬元。面上項目週期為1年至1年半，重點項目週期為2年。
Applicants are required to submit the relevant information via the online application form.
申請人需於網上申請表提交相關資料。
