Biography

Dr. Shuowen Zhang received the B.Eng. degree in information engineering from Chien-Shiung Wu Honors College, Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in June 2013, and the Ph.D. degree from NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering (NGS), National University of Singapore, in January 2018 under the NGS scholarship. From August 2017 to July 2020, she was a Research Fellow with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore. Dr. Zhang joined the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in August 2020, where she is currently an Assistant Professor. Her research interests include integrated sensing and communications, intelligent reflecting surface aided communications, unmanned aerial vehicles, multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications, communication theory, and optimization methods. Dr. Zhang has served as the Guest Editor for IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, and the technical program committee (TPC) member for various IEEE flagship conferences. She also serves as the IEEE Communications Society Asia/Pacific Board WICE Vice Chair, and the IEEE N2Women Mentoring Co-Chair.

Dr. Zhang is the sole recipient of the Marconi Society Paul Baran Young Scholar Award, 2021, and recipient of the IEEE Communications Society Young Author Best Paper Award, 2022.
