To further drive the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, GRG Banking Equipment Co., Limited (hereinafter referred to as “GRGBanking”) — a company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (stock code: 002152) — was invited to visit the Research Centre for Privacy and Security Technologies in Future Smart Systems (RCPST) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) on June 9, 2026, where the two parties held a highly productive industry-academia exchange meeting.
Prof. Hu Haibo, Associate Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at PolyU and Director of RCPST, extended a warm welcome to the GRGBanking delegation on behalf of the centre. Professor Hu provided a detailed overview of the centre’s core research topics and shared recent cutting-edge laboratory achievements, comprehensively demonstrating RCPST’s research strengths in relevant fields.
Following the introduction, several researchers from the centre presented their specific research directions. Prof. Ye Qingqing, Prof. Zheng Yifeng, Dr. Du Minxin, Dr. Zhang Youqian, Dr. Liu Junxu, and Dr. Xiao Yaxin shared their work, covering multiple interdisciplinary fields such as AI security, embodied intelligence, and data marketplaces, showcasing the breadth and depth of the centre’s fundamental research.
After listening to the centre’s presentations, Mr. Zhou Wei from GRGBanking’s Technology Management Department provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s core business, major technology products, and industrial practices and applications in areas such as fintech and urban intelligence. Ms. Yang Xu, Deputy General Manager of GRGBanking, along with Ms. Zhang Juanmiao and Ms. Liang Xiaowen, also offered supplementary insights during the discussion.
The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on common technology directions, mechanisms for technology transfer, and joint talent cultivation. They agreed that there is strong potential for collaboration across several research areas. This exchange has laid a solid foundation for the establishment of a long-term and stable cooperative relationship between GRGBanking and RCPST.
