The Research Centre for Digital Transformation of Tourism (RCDTT) is an initiative by the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to lead cutting edge research in optimizing travel experiences and achieving environmental and business sustainability through digital transformation in tourism and related businesses. Our goal is to enhance the lives of global citizens through technology and innovation.
RCDTT's mission is to drive digital transformation in the tourism industry by developing AI-driven decision and monitoring systems, as well as experience innovation solutions. Through interdisciplinary research, we aim to reshape tourism and hospitality operations, destination governance, and international collaborations. We are dedicated to fostering partnerships with stakeholders in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area (GBA), and the international community to promote best practices.
The rapid advancement of information technology has accelerated the digital transformation of industries, including tourism. Embracing technology and innovation is essential for the tourism sector to meet the changing demands of modern travelers and ensure sustainable growth.
