Summary
The watch industry grew rapidly in Hong Kong in the 1950s-70s, becoming a major manufacturer of watches in East and Southeast Asia. This paper examines three key aspects of this industry – technology, labor, and economy in the intersecting contexts of Cold War history and the global history of technology.
