17 PRI scholars ranked among world’s top 2% most-cited scientists

We are pleased to announce that 17 Photonics Research Institute (PRI) scholars ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists in the newly released metrics compiled by Stanford University.   The scholars were named in the latest release of the Stanford University-led compilation of citation indicators covering over 100,000 top scientists. They were grouped into 22 subject fields and 174 sub-fields using indicators including information on citations, individual’s scientific research output, co-authorship and a composite indicator for career-long citation impact up to the end of 2022.   This recognition reflects the significant influence and research excellence of the scientists, who are committed to furthering their knowledge for the benefit of the world. Prof. CHUNG Chi-yung has received a funding in the 2023 MTR Research Funding Scheme

Prof. QIN Jing has secured funding from the Health and Medical Research Fund for promising healthcare solutions

Chinese Laser Press visited PolyU

Ms Lydia YANG, General Manager of the Chinese Laser Press, and Mr Xiao-Feng WANG, chief editor of the Chinese Laser Press, led a group of editors visiting PolyU on 18 July 2023. During their visit, they participated in fruitful discussions and information exchanges with PRI researchers. In addition, the Chinese Laser Press delegation was given a tour showcasing various laboratories.

Photonics Research Institute (PRI) Program was successfully held on 11 May 2023

The PAIR Conference 2023, themed on “Research Excellence for Societal Impacts”, is the first and largest interdisciplinary research and development conference in Hong Kong. It was successfully commenced at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) on 8-11 May 2023, with some 100 internationally renowned experts as distinguished speakers to share their knowledge and insights.   The PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR) Conference provided an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in closer exchange and collaboration, enriching and expanding interdisciplinary knowledge.   The Photonics Research Institute (PRI) Program was held on 11 May 2023. Besides insightful keynote and technical sessions, the program also comprises laboratory visits and presentations of select research papers.
