Dr Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Social Sciences, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She obtained her PhD degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interests are social inequality, stratification, aging, health, and the life course. One important stream of her research focuses on the social determinants of individuals’ physical and mental health in China and the United States, as well as the various mechanisms underlying unequal health profiles by individuals' age, gender, geographic location, and other social systems.
