Dr Lo is a Registered Social Worker of the Social Workers Registration Board, Associate Fellow and Approved Supervisor of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association. Before his completion of PhD study at The University of Hong Kong, he used to be a family social worker in a Hong Kong NGO. Dr Lo is a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher by the Brown Mindfulness Center at the Brown University, United States, and he has been teaching mindfulness-based programmes for more than 15 years. His research interest is mindfulness-based intervention, and application of mindfulness in parenting and caregiving. Dr Lo has obtained several competitive external grants, including Early Career Scheme, General Research Fund, and Public Policy Research Scheme based on randomised controlled trials of mindfulness-based intervention for parents and caregivers. Based on his previous family service practice experience, he has developed low intensity mindfulness-based programme into advanced practice related projects based on the needs of families across family life cycle. Dr. Lo serves as a committee member in several NGOs, and professional bodies, and currently he is also the editorial board member of Frontiers in Psychology, and China Journal of Social Work.
