Welcome to the Mainland Development Office of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)!
In 1978, The Hong Kong Polytechnic, PolyU’s predecessor, became the first higher education institution in Hong Kong to visit the Mainland, opening the door to innovation exchange and collaboration. Over the past half-century, PolyU has remained steadfast in its commitment to forging close ties with the Mainland, aligning with the nation's progress. Through educational partnerships, PolyU cultivates talent across various industries for the nation. Through technological innovation, it fuels the development of new productive forces.
Adopting a forward-looking, leading-driven and innovative philosophy, the Mainland Development Office acts as a bridge for collaboration between the University and the Mainland, fostering integration, mutual benefits and growth between Hong Kong and the Mainland, fostering integration, mutual benefits and growth between Hong Kong and the Mainland.
Looking ahead, we will continue to accomplish our four core missions:
- Facilitating high-level visits and exchange among government, universities, and research institutions to build robust cooperation platforms between the Mainland and Hong Kong;
- Strengthening regional networks among our six major bases in Beijing, Shanghai and beyond, while providing platforms for academic exchange, innovation and entrepreneurship;
- Harnessing the strength of the Mainland Alumni Association and the PolyU Mainland Student and Scholars Association to propel the University's innovative development;
- Leveraging our Mainland new media platforms to share PolyU’s stories with professional and vibrant storytelling, elevating Hong Kong's reputation as an international education hub.
At its core, educational cooperation thrives on the sharing and integration of resources, the mutual success of collaborative outcomes, and the collective pursuit of shared visions.
