My journey in the Department of Land Surveying and Geospatial Science (LSGS) was challenging and rewarding. During the coursework, I had the opportunity to learn advanced technologies, such as UAV and LiDAR. Thanks to my secondary major in AI and Data Analytics, I was able to integrate AI with land surveying. It was great to experience how AI can help with this field.
Beyond the classroom, the intensive five-day survey camp bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world practice. Collaborating closely with my peers to complete the project not only sharpened our technical, communication, and leadership skills, but also forged lifelong bonds of camaraderie among us. Moreover, the Department offered an international study tour that broadened our global horizons, allowing us to explore how innovative technologies are integrated into land surveying.
The Department also actively shares job opportunities and supports students in their career development. Through career talks, industry connections, and timely updates on internship and graduate openings, LSGS helps students better understand different career paths in the surveying and geospatial industries. My internship provided hands-on experience and deepened my understanding of the latest LiDAR technologies, allowing me to apply what I had learned in class to real-world projects.
LSGS equips students with the tools and knowledge needed to map, analyze, and shape the future of the world. Embrace your journey in LSGS, and you will graduate with a unique and invaluable skill set.
