Biography
Prof. GUO is an Assistant Professor jointly with the Department of Computing (COMP) and the Department of Land Surveying and Geospatial Science (LSGS) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He received his Ph.D., M.Phil., and B.Eng. degrees from PolyU, Waseda University, and Sichuan University, respectively. From 2021 to 2022, he did postdoctoral training at the University of Sydney, where he was also a visiting/exchange Ph.D. from 2019 to 2020. He is generally interested in efficient, edge-native AI, focusing on learning/modeling with constrained resources in data and computing capabilities, as well as their applications across a wide spectrum, such as smart cities, mobility, utility management, etc. He is currently serving as Executive Editor-in-Chief for Edge Intelligence and Systems (EIS), serving as Action Editor for Transactions on Machine Learning Research (TMLR), serving as Associate Editor for Pattern Recognition (PR) and IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society (OJ-CS), and serving as Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems (TCSS) and Complex & Intelligent Systems. He regularly serves as an Area Chair and/or Senior PC for prestigious venues such as ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, ACM-MM, and NeurIPS. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
