JRCMI successfully co‑organized “The Second J.M. Ko Award Ceremony and International Symposium on Advances in Structural Engineering” at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 20 August 2026. President Jin‑guang Teng delivered an opening speech. Eight distinguished scholars presented keynote and invited lectures, and over 100 participants attended the event. 海洋基础设施联合研究中心于 2026 年 8 月 20 日在香港理工大学共同举办 “第二届J.M. Ko奖颁奖仪式暨结构工程新进展国际研讨会”。滕锦光校长出席开幕式并致辞，2 位 J.M. Ko 获奖学者发表主旨报告，6 位知名学者发表特邀报告，100 余位学者参加了是次会议。

JRCMI co-organized “The 14th Asia-Pacific-Euro Summer School on Smart Structures Technology” 海洋基础设施联合研究中心共同举办“第十四届亚洲‑太平洋‑欧洲智能结构技术暑期学校”

JRCMI successfully co-organized “The 14th Asia-Pacific-Euro Summer School on Smart Structures Technology (APESS2025)” at PolyU from 14 July to 1 August 2025. Prof. Yong Xia, Chair of the summer school, delivered the opening remarks. 21 world-leading experts presented lectures on structural dynamics, smart structures and structural health monitoring, and over 50 graduate students and post-doctoral researchers from more than 10 countries and regions attended the program. 海洋基础设施联合研究中心于 2025 年 7 月 14 日至 8 月 1 日在香港理工大学共同举办 “第十四届亚洲‑太平洋‑欧洲智能结构技术暑期学校（APESS2025）”。暑期学校主席夏勇教授致开幕辞，21 位国际知名专家围绕结构动力学、智能结构及结构健康监测等主题讲授专题课程，来自 10 余个国家和地区的 50 余名研究生及博士后研究人员参加了是次暑期学校。

JRCMI co‑organized “The Joint 16th International Workshop on Advanced Smart Materials and Smart Structures Technology and 4th ZHITU Symposium on Advances in Civil Engineering” 海洋基础设施联合研究中心共同举办 “第十六届先进智能材料与智能结构技术国际研讨会暨第四届ZHITU土木工程新进展国际研讨会”

JRCMI successfully co‑organized “The Joint 16th International Workshop on Advanced Smart Materials and Smart Structures Technology (ANCRiSST2025) and 4th ZHITU Symposium on Advances in Civil Engineering (ZHITU2025)” at PolyU on 21‑22 July 2025. Prof. Xiang‑dong Li, Prof. Hui Li and Ir Eric Jiang delivered opening speeches. 12 internationally renowned scholars delivered keynote lectures, and over 200 participants from more than 10 countries and regions attended the event. 海洋基础设施联合研究中心于 2025 年 7 月 21‑22 日共同举办 “第16届先进智能材料与智能结构技术国际研讨会（ANCRiSST2025）暨第四届 ZHITU（智途）五校联盟‘土木工程新进展’国际研讨会（ZHITU2025）”。李向东教授、李惠院士、Ir Eric Jiang 工程师出席开幕式并致辞，12 位专家学者发表了大会主旨报告，来自 10 多个国家和地区的 200 余位学者参加了是次会议。

Online preparatory meeting for “Guangdong-Hong Kong Joint Laboratory for Marine Infrastructure” 粤港联合实验室的线上筹备会议

On 14 January 2025, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority, China Energy Engineering Co., Ltd. Guangdong Institute and CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. held an online preparatory meeting for the Guangdong-Hong Kong Joint Laboratory, with a total of 43 core members attending. During the meeting, the three collaborators from Guangdong introduced their own achievements and needs, and shared their own research priorities. More than 20 teachers from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University also introduced their research directions on the content of laboratory construction. Finally, the participants discussed the main directions and sub-topics of the laboratory, which laid the foundation for the subsequent research cooperation. 2025年1月14日，香港理工大学、港珠澳大桥管理局、中国能建广东院及中交四航研究院四家共建单位召开了粤港联合实验室的线上筹备会议，共有43位核心成员参会。 在会议中，粤方三家单位介绍了各自的成果和需求，分享了各自的研究重点。香港理工大学的20多位教师也就实验室建设内容介绍了自己的研究方向。最后，与会人员共同讨论了实验室的主要方向和子课题，为后续的研究合作奠定了基础。

JRCMI Seminar: “Elastoplastic Damage Model and Numerical Implementation of Nano-Silica Incorporated Concrete” “纳米二氧化硅混凝土的弹塑性损伤模型及其数值实现”

Prof. Jiann-Wen Woody Ju from the University of California, Los Angeles visited JRCMI and delivered a seminar titled “Elastoplastic Damage Model and Numerical Implementation of Nano-Silica Incorporated Concrete”, on 16 Dec 2024. Prior to the seminar, Prof. Ju visited the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Footbridge Monitoring System guided by JRCMI’s director, Prof. Yong Xia. Prof. Ju highly praised the innovation and uniqueness of the system. 美国加州大学洛杉矶分校朱建文教授于2024年12月16日以“纳米二氧化硅混凝土的弹塑性损伤模型及其数值实现”为主题作了精彩报告。报告前，朱教授在中心主任夏勇教授的陪同下参观了位于香港理工大学的人行桥监测系统并高度评价本系统的创新性和独特性。

Members Visiting CCCC Zhanjiang Exposure Station 研究中心成员访问中交湛江暴露站

Professor Yong Xia and his research team members visited the Zhanjiang Exposed Test Station on August 18, 2024. Dr. Fan Zhihong, the Associate Director of CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd, overviewed the station's historical development and primary functions. They exchanged research ideas and potential collaboration in material corrosion and long-term monitoring. 海洋基础设施联合研究中心的夏勇教授带领研究团队于2024年8月18日前往中交第四航务工程局的湛江暴露试验站进行了为期2天的参观。中交四航工程研究院的范志宏主任对湛江暴露试验站的发展历史以及主要功能进行了详细的介绍与说明，并与夏勇教授关于基于湛江暴露试验站开展未来的相关研究工作进行相应的交流与讨论。通过这次参观，研究团队对试验站的功能和历史有了更深入的了解，也为双方的合作带来新的契机，推动相关领域的研究进展。

JRCMI successfully co-organized “The 6th China Offshore Wind Support Structure Design and Construction Symposium” on 15 June 2024. President Jin-guang Teng delivered an opening speech. 14 scholars and practitioners presented keynote speeches, and over 100 participants attended the event. 海洋基础设施联合研究中心于2024年6月15日共同举办“第六届中国海上风电支撑结构设计施工研讨会“。滕锦光校长出席开幕式并致辞，14位学术届、工程界专家发表了大会报告，100余学者参加了是次会议。

JRCMI&ASCE Greater China Section Co-organized a Short Course on “Fatigue Design of Steel Bridges” 海洋基础设施联合研究中心与ASCE大中华分会联合举办了钢结构桥梁疲劳设计短期课程

JRCMI and ASCE Greater China Section successfully co-organized a one-day professional short course “Fatigue Design of Steel Bridges” on 17 May 2024. Prof.  Yong Xia of PolyU, Prof. Xiaolin Zhao of PolyU, Dr Yin Chen of Jinan University, Dr. Jie Liu of Nanjing Forestry University and Ms. Tian Lu of PolyU delivered lectures covering fundamental material science related to the fatigue of steel, basic theory and procedures for fatigue damage evaluation, design aspects on fatigue of steel bridges, and fatigue damage strengthening methods. 海洋基础设施联合研究中心与ASCE大中华分会于2024年5月17日成功联合举办了为期一天的“钢桥梁疲劳设计”专业课程。香港理大大学夏勇教授、香港理大大学赵小林教授、暨南大学陈英博士、南京林业大学刘杰博士及香港理大大学卢田女士就钢材疲劳的基础材料科学、疲劳损伤评估的基本理论及程序、钢桥的疲劳设计及疲劳损伤加固方法等进行了讲座。

Prof. Bill Spencer from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Prof. Yozo Fujino from Josai University delivered seminars titled “Topology Optimization of Structures subjected to Random Earthquake, Wind, and Traffic Loading” and “Preparing for the unexpected”, respectively, on 20 Jan 2024. 美国伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳-香槟分校Bill Spencer教授和城西大学校长Yozo Fujino教授于2024年1月20日分别以“随机地震、风和交通荷载下结构的拓扑优化”和“未雨绸缪”为主题作了精彩报告。

Visiting Harbin Institute of Technology 哈尔滨工业大学学术交流

JRCMI and the team of Professor Yuequan Bao from Harbin Institute of Technology jointly established the Harbin Institute of Technology - Hong Kong Polytechnic University "Hong Kong and Macao Joint Laboratory". Prof. Yong Xia, the Director of JRCMI, and Associate Prof. Kaiming Bi visited Harbin Institute of Technology on 11 December 2023 and exchanged academic outcomes. 海洋基础设施联合研究中心与哈尔滨工业大学鲍跃全教授团队共同成立了哈尔滨工业大学-香港理工大学“港澳联合实验室”，实验室主任夏勇教授与毕凯明副教授于2023年12月11日访问了哈尔滨工业大学并进行了学术交流。
