Brief Biosketch
Dr Jiaxin Lv is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to joining PolyU, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, where she also obtained her PhD. She holds both BEng and MSc degrees from Tongji University.
Dr Lv's research focuses on advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g. extrusion and bulging) and multi-scale physically based material modeling. She is the inventor of the novel Wide-profile Extrusion (WiExtrude®) technology, which enables rapid, cost-effective production of wide-thin light-alloy profiles with complex cross-sections. She also developed Flexible Curved-Profile Extrusion (Flextrude®), a breakthrough technique that allows direct extrusion of profiles with designed curvatures, achieving up to 40–50% cost reduction compared to conventional methods. Her research has been widely published in leading journals such as JMPT, JMP, IJMS, JCS, MSEA, and JAC. She is also a selected member of the Innovate UK ICURe Discover Programme.
