Following the success of the first Masterclass on Strategic Branding in partnership with PolyU Design in Oct 2021, the second PolyU Design Masterclass on Strategic Leadership was delivered on 10th and 17th June 2022 to twenty -four participants. Participants were a mix from two government departments, namely Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO). They were Senior Librarians, Senior Music Officers, Senior Systems Managers and Museum Curators, etc.
The PolyU Design Masterclass on Strategic Leadership was led by Dr Jörn Bühring, Assistant Professor, School of Design. The full day of interactive activities putting the emphasis on foresight, creativity and decision-making were highly appreciated by the participants. Two well-respected industry leaders from Zurich and Helsinki were invited to be the guest speakers to share their experience and insights on Zoom. Dr. Evangelos Avramakis is the Head Digital Ecosystems R&D, Swiss Re Institute. Dr. Mika Aaltonen is the Associate Professor (foresight & complexity) and the Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. During the two-day masterclass, participants were reminded the importance to respond to changes through a more tactical product-service innovation process as leaders.
