	The 6th China Tourism Forum To commemorate the first anniversary of the 5/12 Sichuan earthquake, the SHTM, United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and Sichuan Tourism Administration (STA) staged the Sixth China Tourism Forum in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, on 12 and 13 May. The Forum was attended by 300 industry leaders and scholars from around the world.


	International Convention and Expo Summit 2009 Participants from around the world gathered in Hong Kong from 18 to 20 May 2009 to attend the International Convention and Expo Summit 2009 (ICES 2009), which was jointly organised by the SHTM and the William T. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV, Singapore Campus).


	The 2nd International Conference on Impact of Movies and Television on Tourism With the world-famous movie star Professor Jackie Chan as the title sponsor, the SHTM was proud to host the 2nd International Conference on Impact of Movies and Television on Tourism from 21 to 23 May in Hong Kong, the Hollywood of the East.


	The 29th International Symposium on Forecasting The 29th International Symposium on Forecasting (ISF) took place in Hong Kong from 21 to 24 June. Taking the theme "Services Sector Forecasting", the Symposium was organised by the International Institute of Forecasters and the SHTM.


	New SHTM WEBSITE The SHTM launched a new website on 10 June to account for the many changes at the School in recent years. The new site provides relevant information about the School in a user-friendly manner, enhancing the SHTM's image as the world's leading hospitality institution. The stylish, easy to navigate site can be accessed at www.polyu.edu.hk/htm.
