Achievements and Recognition

 

Mr Joey Wu, Mr Winston Li and Ms Michelle Chau, Higher Diploma students studying Attraction Management, joined the Halloween Haunted House Design Competition 2009 held by Ocean Park and Milk Magazine and won the contest by designing a "Haunted Subway". Ocean Park will build a haunted house based on their design for Halloween 2009.

Dr Sylvester Yeung and Dr Henry Tsai have succeeded in winning the General Research Fund (GRF) grants in 2009-2010. Dr Yeung's research topic is "Developing an Ethics Curriculum for the China Hospitality Industry"and Dr Tsai's topic is "Optimising Hotel Room Capacity for Hong Kong Using a Single-Period Inventory Model Approach". GRF is the major annual funding exercise of the Research Grant Council to support academic research in institutions funded by the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong SAR.

Ms Lung Sum Yee, Clara, a student of BSc (Hons) in Hotel Management (Conversion) who graduated in December 2008 submitted her paper entitled "Tourists Attitudes on Environmental Protection and their Hotel Selection in Hong Kong" to the Travel and Tourism Research Association Annual Conference held in Hawaii on 23 June and won the J. Desmond Slattery Undergraduate Student Award.
