Guided-study subjects normally involve no lectures. The RPg student is required to study specified monographs and journal publications under the guidance of a subject supervisor, and should frequently meet with the subject supervisor to review his/her learning progress. For these subjects, coursework should carry a lower weighting than the examination. Coursework normally consists of assignments and presentations. Examination is compulsory and normally includes both written and oral. At the end of the semester, the RPg student is examined by the subject supervisor and another staff member with relevant expertise. Grades should be given in the same manner as regular taught subjects, using Form Form GSB/27. All guided-study subjects will be at level 6, with subject codes ranging from 6800 to 6999.
