Roles and Responsibilities of Head of Department (HoD)/Dean of School (DoS)
 
  1. The HoD/DoS should ensure that the resources available to the Department/School are sufficient to meet the need of RPg students’ research proposals, that RPg students have adequate access to these resources and are not promised more than is available;
  2. The HoD/DoS should ensure that the research of RPg students are to be carried out in a healthy and safe environment;
  3. The HoD/DoS should provide a clear definition on the nature of training to be provided to RPg students receiving a Postgraduate Scholarship; and
  4. The HoD/DoS should monitor the relationship between RPg students and supervisors so that conflicts can be identified promptly and appropriate steps taken to resolve or manage them.
