Appeal against Decision of Deregistration

  1. An RPg student can make an appeal against a decision to deregister him/her within one month of the date of notification of the result.
  2. An appeal against deregistration should be sent to the relevant Faculty Office. The appeal shall be considered by the whole FRC/SB, i.e., Chair’s action is not allowed. Any member of the FRC/SB who is a supervisor of the student cannot take part in the FRC/SB discussion and decision on the case. The FRC/SB is required to inform the student, in writing, of its decision within eight weeks of receipt of the appeal. A copy of the formal notification should be copied to GS for record.
  3. If the appellant is dissatisfied with the FRC’s/SB’s decision, he/she may appeal further in writing to the GSB not later than one month (from the date of notification of the first appeal result) after receipt of the decision of the FRC/SB. The Chair of the GSB shall determine whether there are prima facie grounds for a re-consideration of the FRC’s/SB’s decision, and if so, shall refer it to the GSB. The GSB will consider the appeal and notify the student of the result within eight weeks of receipt of the appeal. Any member of the GSB who is a supervisor of the student cannot take part in the GSB discussion and decision on the case. If the GSB Chair considers that there are no grounds for the case, the appeal shall fail.
