Specific requirements applicable to Dual PhD Degree Programmes with the following Partner Institution (PI):

 

Students admitted

from the 2022/23 cohort onwards

from the 2017/18 cohort

between 1 July 2014 and 30 June 2017 cohort

on the basis of an MPhil or an RPg degree with a dissertation as an award requirement or above

Residence Requirement

6 consecutive semesters/terms at PolyU

Thesis review and oral examination

Students will need to submit two theses from the same research topic (written in English and Chinese). Thesis review will be conducted separately according to the requirements of PolyU and PI. The Board of Examiners (BoE) shall be formed separately according to the regulations of each university to assess thesis and conduct oral examination.

Two oral examinations will be conducted at PolyU and PI. PI requires the oral exam to be conducted at PI goes first.

Continuation fee

Students failing to submit their thesis by the end of the normal study period will be required to pay continuation fee to PolyU.

Students will not be required to pay continuation fee to PolyU.

Study arrangement

Arrange based on students’ study plan, students shall stay at PolyU for 6 consecutive semesters/terms.

Arrange based on students’ study plan, students shall stay at PolyU for 4 consecutive semesters/terms.
