Health and Safety Unit aims to assist the office in ensuring as far as reasonably practicable the health and safety of all FMO staff and to monitor contractors appointed by the office to comply with all relevant statutory requirements and in-house safety regulations.
- Continuously promote health and safety culture, ownership, awareness and accountability, in support of objectives, targets and related initiatives
- Ensure the compliance with the local and the University's health and safety regulations and requirements on areas concerned for the entire Office
- Manage the departmental health and safety system
- Update and implement the Health, Safety and Environment Management Manual
- Up-keep the website of E-Health, Safety and Environmental System
- Plan, coordinate and implement hazard control programmes and job hazard analysis and risk assessment
- Plan, coordinate and implement health and safety related activities, programmes, workshops, events, trainings and promotions for the Office
- Plan, coordinate and implement regular site safety inspections
- Conduct investigation of accidents and incidents
- Provide professional advice on evaluation, selection and control of contractors / suppliers for health and safety matters
- Provide consultancy and supporting services for project managers in tackling health and safety issues
- Inspire and monitor the safety performance of the office to achieve its safety targets
