SHEN Leming
PhD candidate
Department of Computing
My passion for bridging AI with mobile systems inspired me to pursue a PhD in Networking and Mobile Computing at PolyU. Under the supervision of Prof. Yuanqing Zheng, PolyU has provided the ideal collaborative environment to deeply explore my research interests in LLMs, Embodied AI, and AIoT applications.
Throughout my studies, I have had the privilege of publishing in top-tier conferences such as ACM MobiCom, SenSys, MobiSys, and IEEE INFOCOM. These opportunities were supported by PolyU’s strong research culture, funding, and access to excellent computing resources. My research journey further extends to an overseas top-tier university: I am currently a visiting PhD student in Robotics and Multimodal AI at University College London (UCL), which has greatly broadened my international research perspective and network.
Beyond research, the RPg programme has significantly contributed to my professional growth. I actively engaged in professional services in the research community. For example, I served as an artifact reviewer for top conferences including MobiCom, MobiSys, SenSys, CCS, NDSS, S&P, and USENIX Security, and as an invited reviewer for leading journals such as TMC and TOSN. My dedication to the academic community was recognised with Distinguished Artifact Evaluation Reviewer Awards at CCS, SenSys, and MobiSys.
Overall, PolyU has offered me rigorous training, strong mentorship, and rich international exposure. These comprehensive experiences have fully prepared me for a successful career as an independent researcher in mobile computing.
