Biography
Michael Botelho is the Assistant Dean of Wellness at the dental faculty of the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He is recognized as a top 2% researcher by Stanford University. With over 25 years of experience in educational research, reform, and innovation, Michael has made significant contributions to dental education and beyond.
He is an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Dental Education, a Past President of the Educational Research Group of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), and a former board member of the Association of Dental Educators of Europe. Michael has authored over 100 peer-reviewed research papers, including more than 30 focused on dental education, and has secured over 16 educational grants as principal investigator.
His teaching excellence has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Tertiary Sector Hong Kong UGC Teaching Award and the University of Hong Kong Distinguished Teaching Award. Michael has lectured, consulted, and examined across Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, and the USA in dental education.
