Mr Kwok applied the patented heat-conductive knitting technology in a variety of wearable items. He co-founded the lifestyle brand, KnitWarm, which aims to generate heat and keep wearers warm without looking bulky or feeble. 

In the last three years, KnitWarm has launched and commercialised more than ten innovative products including Wrap, Smart KneeSleeve, HarnessWarmer, and WarmerBand. The patented invention successfully addresses the technological challenges, rendering bulky, uncomfortable and unstylish winter wear a thing of the past.

Unlocking the possibility of new applications to satisfy the unmet needs of customers, Mr Kwok’s functional wearables are well recognised in the market and won many awards for the company. These include the Red Dot Award, Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology Alliance Awards 2020-21, Hong Kong ICT Awards - Grand Award, and DHL / SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards 2021 - the Startup Award.

Dr Fan earned his bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees from PolyU’s Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC), and is currently Assistant Professor in Fashion Business at ITC. Prior to joining ITC, he was Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University and Assistant Professor at Macau University of Science and Technology.

Dr Fan has keen research interests in sustainable operations. His works aim to build a greener, safer, and more socially responsible global fashion supply chain. With papers published in top-tier peer-reviewed publications, such as the Journal of Operations Management and the Manufacturing & Service Operations Management Journal, his academic achievement is well recognised, earning him honours from around the world. These include the Jack Meredith Best Paper Award from the Journal of Operations Management, and the Presidential Responsible Research Award from the International Association of Chinese Management Research. His findings have been widely picked up by major international media such as The Guardian, South China Morning Post, and the Sydney Morning Herald.
