Mr Charles CHAN Kin-hung

Executive Director, The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong

Master of Arts in Social Work (Family-centred Practice and Family Therapy) (2007); Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (1993); Diploma in Social Work (1987)

Mr Chan is a registered social worker with over 30 years of experience. He earned his diploma, bachelor’s and master’s degrees from PolyU. Having worked for a number of reputable NGOs, including The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council, and the Evangelical Lutheran Social Service of Hong Kong, he is now the Executive Director of The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong.
 
Throughout the decades, Mr Chan has always cared for young people and engaged in works related to integrated children and youth service, outreaching, school social work, service for the prevention and rehabilitation of substance abusers, career guidance and training, as well as support for those with special educational needs. 

In a bid to facilitate exchange of ideas and collaboration within the social welfare industry, he has given active support to The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, Hong Kong Social Workers Association, and advisory bodies of various local institutes that provide social work education. He has either been a committee member or a guest speaker on an array of subjects related to running a NGO, such as service development, organisational capacity building, research and policy advocacy, information technology strategies, and sector finance.

In 2006, he won the Outstanding Social Worker Award for his contribution to the industry.
