Biography

Prof. Xingyi Yang is currently an Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Scholar Scheme) in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his PhD from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Master’s from UC San Diego (UCSD), and Bachelor’s from Southeast University (SEU). During his PhD, he was also a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford.

His research focuses on generative AI and multimodal learning, with a strong emphasis on computational efficiency. His work has been published in top-tier artificial intelligence venues and recognized with numerous honors. He received a Best Paper Honorable Mention at NeurIPS 2022, a nomination for the WAIC Outstanding Youth Paper Award in 2024, and the 2023 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad.
