Biography

Prof. Xinfeng Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining PolyU, he was a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University. He received his Ph.D. and B.Eng., both with honors, from Zhejiang University.

His research lies at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, with a focus on the security, privacy, and safety of agentic AI systems and multimodal large language models, as well as AI for cybersecurity. His long-term goal is to develop robust and responsible AI agents that can resist attacks and interact safely with users, other agents, and the physical and digital worlds. His work has appeared at top-tier security and AI/ML venues such as IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, USENIX Security, NDSS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, KDD, and ACL. His honors include the ACM SIGSAC China Doctoral Dissertation Award and Zhejiang University’s WANG PhD Research Excellence Award. He has served as an Area Chair for NeurIPS and ICLR and as a TPC member for ACM CCS and USENIX Security.
