Paper crafting was inscribed onto the Representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Hong Kong in 2017. Paper craft products are made from bamboo strips, rice paper strips, coloured paper, silk fabrics, and other materials, using paper crafting techniques and painting skills. Nowadays, paper craft products are mainly used for traditional festive celebrations and religious rituals. In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamental techniques of paper crafting, including binding, paper-mounting, painting and adorning, to make a traditional starfruit or polyhedron lantern.
