Students learn through serving in developing countries

This summer, some 100 PolyU students participated in rewarding service-learning projects under the theme “Technology without boundary”. Applying their technological knowledge, students served NGOs in developing countries including Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Rwanda.

In particular, a group of students set up an intranet system for an NGO in Rwanda to help improve work productivity. They also provided the NGO staff with knowledge on social media for publicity purposes. Another group of students developed solar panels for children in Cambodia to facilitate their learning at nighttime.
