Student Experiences

It was a good experience to have my exchange in Shanghai since it is also an international city like Hong Kong, but there is still something different. Students in Shanghai take so many credits that they need to manage their time precisely, unlike Hong Kong students. Students are required to take PE lessons as an elementary class. They are so busy that they have at least 3 to 4 lessons a day while having extra-curricular activities not only within the school but also outside. Fudan University allows students to do whatever they want so people there are so full of schedules. However, under such high pressure, they can keep everything in order. I think it is a good thing to learn from them.

I am so honored to be an exchange student at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It was a great experience for me to experience a new learning style and live in Shanghai. I also felt very much at home with my Shanghai friends and teachers and have kept in touch with them to this day. I would like to thank the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Department of Chinese Culture for giving me this valuable opportunity, an experience I will never forget.

Going to Shanghai Jiao Tong University for an academic exchange was the most memorable experience of my university life. During this learning experience, I took art-related courses which were outside of my major, broadening my knowledge and exploring different interests in various fields of study. At the same time, I got to know the local students and teachers, learned about different teaching styles and mindsets, and had a cultural exchange. I was fortunate enough to meet a group of like-minded people during this learning experience wherein I have found my future path.
