    **Double fulfilment- students completing CHC134P Science and Civilisation in Pre-modern China will meet the Cluster Area Requirements (CAR) in Chinese History and Culture, thus, students are NOT required to take a CAR M subject for which the DSR has already been fulfilled.


  2. Work-Integrated Education (3 credits)
    Work-Integrated Education (WIE): CHC313 Work-Integrated Education.
    The 3 credits of WIE are considered as training credits and are not taken into consideration in the calculation of the student’s GPA.

  3. Capstone Project (3 credits)
    Capstone Project: CHC402 Capstone Project in Chinese History and Culture
    The Capstone Project can take various forms such as a thesis, a poster presentation, an exhibition and a photo-essay, but must include a significant writing component. (A thesis, for example, should not be shorter than 4500 Chinese words or 3300 English words.) Students are encouraged to declare the topic of the Capstone Project in the first semester of final year study, and complete the Project under the supervision of an advisor in the last semester of study.

  4. Discipline Specific Requirement (DSR) subjects and credits (90 credits)
    The total number of credits attained from GUR and DSR subjects is less than 120, students are required to take 3 credits of any Elective Subjects under the 6 areas.
