Welcome to the PolyU-SCUT Joint Research Centre for Advanced and Green Composite Materials (CAGCOM)!
At the Centre, we stand at the forefront of innovation in composite materials, born from a collaborative vision between The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and South China University of Technology (SCUT). Established in response to the evolving demands of various industries, our Centre aims to harness the strengths of both institutions to advance research, education, and technology translation in the field of advanced and green composites.
Our primary research areas include polymer matrix composites, high-entropy ceramic composites, energy storage composites, and cementitious/infrastructure composites. We are committed to exploiting emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, robotics, and artificial intelligence to enhance the performance and functionality of composite materials for traditional applications, while also exploring new applications in healthcare, electronics, energy storage, and more.
As we navigate the urgent need for sustainability and decarbonization, our mission is to reduce carbon footprints and environmental impacts associated with composite materials. We strive to create "green" and "sustainable" solutions that not only meet the needs of today but also contribute to a better tomorrow.
Our vision is to become a world-leading Centre in the Greater Bay Area, enhancing life quality and productivity through innovative materials and efficient energy solutions. We invite you to explore our research initiatives and join us in our commitment to advancing the field of composite materials for a sustainable future.
Please feel free to contact us for more information about the Centre. We welcome collaboration opportunities that lead to groundbreaking advancements in advanced and green composites.
