Biography

Dr Laure Lu CHEN received a PhD in child development and education in the University of Hong Kong. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Child, Adolescent and Family Research at the University of Cambridge and at the Centre for Information and the Centre for Information Technology in Education at the University of Hong Kong.

Dr CHEN's primary research interest lies in digital childhood, a rapidly evolving field that examines how digital environments shape children's cognitive, emotional, and social development. Her work adopts a multi-method and multi-informant approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative data from children, parents, educators, and digital platforms to provide a holistic understanding of children's experiences in digital contexts. She is particularly interested in how digital technology use influences developmental outcomes, and how families and educators can foster positive and meaningful digital engagement.
