The China and Global Development Network (CGDN) helped coordinate an academic exchange between the School of Social Work at China Civil Affairs University (CCAU) and the Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 23 September 2025.
Led by Prof. Xuehui ZHAO, Dean of CCAU’s School of Social Work, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Eric CHUI, Chair Professor of Social Work and Criminology, Head of APSS and Co-Director of the Policy Research Centre for Innovation and Technology and his colleagues included Prof. Ben KU, Professor of APSS and Director of CGDN), Prof. Janet LEUNG, Professor of APSS and Dr Kong YAM, Senior Lecturer of APSS.
The CCAU delegation toured around PolyU’s Industrial Centre, where they explored the innovative application of the Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) System in social work education. The visit fostered mutual inspiration, paving the way for future collaboration in teacher training, social work practice, and student exchange programmes.
