倪教授是結構健康監測(SHM)與振動控制領域的國際權威學者，2020-2024年連續五年入選斯坦福大學發佈的土木工程領域「全球前2%科學家」榜單 (涵蓋年度科學影響力和終身科學影響力)」。現任《Journal of Infrastructure Intelligence and Resilience》(Elsevier)和《Intelligent Transportation Infrastructure》(Oxford) 聯合主編，《Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring》(Springer) 和《Journal of Vibration and Control》(SAGE Publications) 副主編，《Structural Control and Health Monitoring》(Wiley) 和《Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing and Special Equipment》(Emerald Publishing) 顧問編委，以及《Engineering Structures》(Elsevier)、《Advances in Structural Engineering》(SAGE Publications)、《Smart Structures and Systems》(Techno-Press)、《Transportation Safety and Environment》(Oxford University Press) 等8個期刊編委。

作為結構健康監測 (SHM) 領域的開拓者，倪教授於2017年獲國際頂級期刊《Structural Health Monitoring》頒發「SHM年度人物獎」。其科研獲獎還包括：國家科學技術進步二等獎(2016)、廣東省科學技術進步一等獎 (2014)、浙江省自然科學二等獎 (2021)、上海市科學技術三等獎 (2013)、中國公路學會科學技術一等獎 (2021)、中國振動工程學會科學技術一等獎(2022)、第37屆 (2009) 與第41屆 (2013) 日內瓦國際發明展金獎及最高獎，並於2010和2024年兩度獲香港理工大學校長特設傑出成就獎（研究及學術活動），迄今已培育33名博士研究生，並在中、美、日、韓、德等國家獲得25項授權專利。
