Full Time Studies
Full Time Studies means undertaking a full-time fee-paying degree programme at PolyU. Here at PolyU, we offer a wide range of academic programmes which are professionally oriented and designed specifically to meet the requirements of the business and industrial sectors and the community. You will have a wide choice of more than 170 programmes leading to the awards of Doctoral, Master's and Bachelor's degrees as well as Postgraduate Diploma and Higher Diploma supported by 1,200 academic and research staff from different parts of the world. We have a total of six faculties and two schools, each with its own strengths and distinguished achievements.
We have language and general education requirements for students who are interested in undertaking our programames and you may be required to take an internal language proficiency test. English is the medium of instruction, except for Chinese-related subjects and specially approved programmes. Teaching is usually in the form of lectures, and sometimes tutorials and seminars, and possibly supplemented by laboratory and/or practical sessions depending on your discipline. Your academic progress will be assessed by methods that include fieldwork, laboratory assignments, projects, test and/or examinations. Examinations normally take place in December and May every year, after the teaching semesters.
Our graduates are ranked first in practicality above their counterparts from other local universities according to several independent surveys. We encourage our students to get practical experiences related to their study where possible. In line with Hong Kong's immigration laws, all international students and graduates of full-time locally accredited programmes at degree level or above are allowed to take up part-time or full-time jobs in Hong Kong. So this is another option for you upon your graduation!
