Campus Life
Accommodation
You can truly immerse yourself into the lifestyle of a PolyU student by staying at the Student Halls of Residence. It is probably the largest single block of hall premises in the world and houses over 3,000 student residents. All rooms are fully furnished with a shared bathroom between two adjacent rooms. Each room is air-conditioned and equipped with broadband Internet access.
There are a total of eight undergraduate halls and one postgraduate hall on the hall premises and to accommodate the overwhelming demand for student residents, the University is currently building a new Student Hostel (known as Student Hostel Phase 3), which is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2012, creating an additional 1,650 hostel places.
Living in hall offers you plenty of learning opportunities with various inter and intra hall events, also known as ??a href="http://www.polyu.edu.hk/hall/education/education.html" target="_blank">Hall Education Programmes'. A wide range of activities like workshops, cultural sharing covering different interests such as cooking, languages, music, dance and much more encourage students to broaden their international outlook and enhance their appreciation of different cultures. Not only do you get to meet new friends and participate in a variety of cultural activities, staying at Student Halls of Residence will ensure you are totally immersed in the PolyU culture, enhancing your exchange/study abroad experience.
As an international student, you will be offered places in University managed accommodation, subject to availability. This can either be the Student Halls of Residence or other University managed accommodation off campus near the university. Alternatively, if you prefer to arrange for your own accommodation off-campus, we can also provide information to help you get started. Please visit here for more details.
