International Students / Chinese Mainland Students / Taiwanese Students

For International Students

All overseas students who take part in student exchange programmes in Hong Kong must obtain an appropriate visa

Our Office will act as your visa sponsor and submit all required documents to the Hong Kong Immigration Department on your behalf. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to process a visa application.

When the visa is issued, our office will collect it from the Hong Kong Immigration Department and then send it to you by courier according to your address provided in the Enrollment Form. If you have moved or no longer stays in your home country, please inform IAO immediately for change of address.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Under the Hong Kong Immigration Ordinance, holders of student visa are not entitled to engage in any job, either paid or unpaid, during their stay in Hong Kong.

For Students Holding Chinese Passports

In addition to your Hong Kong student visa, student who is a Chinese resident of the Mainland should apply for an Exit-entry Permit (EEP) for Traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macao (往來港澳通行證) with your approved Hong Kong student visa. You should apply a relevant exit endorsement (相關赴港簽注) from the Public Security Bureau office where his/her household registration is kept (戶口所在地的公安機關出入管理部門).

The entry permit label should be affixed onto a blank endorsement page of the applicant's EEP on which his/her relevant exit endorsement has been obtained. The applicant should present the EEP for immigration examination upon arrival in Hong Kong.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please plan for your travel from foreign country you are studying to your home town in Mainland China. The application for the EEP takes 5-14 working days, varied from cities.

For Students Holding Taiwanese Passport
Should the application is successful, students holding Taiwanese passports will be issued an "Entry Permit" instead of a student visa. The Entry Permit is of single entry and you cannot leave Hong Kong during the period of exchange.
